Experience

Audrey Erbes, Ph.D., is a life-science marketing and business development consul­tant providing clients with a global perspective. A developer of customized executive education, she originated and currently teaches 2-day intensive bioscience marketing and business development courses to working professionals at the UC Santa Cruz Ext. in Silicon Valley.

With more than 25 years of corporate managerial experience, she most recently was Executive Vice President and cofounder of Kowa Research Institute in San Jose, a biopharma licensing and investment subsidiary of Kowa Company Ltd of Japan. Previously, she held man­agement positions at Syntex Corp. (acquired by Roche) in product management, strategic marketing, product planning, business development and market research in both the U.S. and international operating units. She spent 185 days a year for 5 years in country as the Asia/Pacific Regional Marketing Director with two years service as acting marketing director at Nippon Syntex.

Activities include the publication “Face to Face with Investors,” Pharmaceutical Executive, (June 2003), chairing BIO 2004 panel entitled “The Most Likely Successful Business Model for Personalized Medicine” and organizing and directing an 8-international speaker symposium and partnering meeting in 2004 for 15 Japanese biotech company and academic executives.  She  teaches Bioscience Business and Marketing Essentials, Bioscience Business Development: Building Value, and Bioscience Product Marketing twice a year. Audrey was named the NCC—Association for Women in Science, “2006 Distinguished Professional” and Professional Women’s Healthcare Alliance (PWHA), “2006 Innovator of the Year”. She earned an M.A. and Ph.D. in political science from the University of Florida with a focus on political movements and behavioral research.
